principles and methods of diagnosis in siddha

        " நா நிறம் மொழி விழி மலம் மூத்திரம் நாடி ஸ்பரிசம்
        இவை யாவும் மருத்துவர் ஆயுதம் ".

These are said to be the tools for an siddha physician for diagnosing the disease of the patient......
In Siddha system, the definite principle adopted in diagnosing the disturbed dathus individual y or in combination with one or two of the remaining dathus, is the application of the science of pulsation. In order to ensure the diagnosis of the faults of the dathus there are also additional tests adopted and they are body as a whole, voice, tongue, eye, axcreta urine, tongue, external appearance of the patient, etc.,
further tests are also employed on the principles of Neerkuri ( symptoms exhibited by gingily oil dropped over the surface of urine )
Manikadai naadi ( a process of measuring with a string tied round just above the wrist and comparing with the length of fingers to find out the difference)
